OVERVIEW
Quantum is a multi-purpose application designed to visualise complex GPS information in a simple, yet effective way. Built with precision and accessibility in mind, Quantum is an essential tool for ships, oil rigs, vessels, and various personnel within the oil and gas industry.
BUILT USING
- ExtJS 5/Node JS
- Selenium/JUnit 5
- Node WebKit/Electron
- HTML5/SASS/JavaScript
THE BRIEF
Veripos required a visually appealing application, which was not only capable of displaying sophisticated location data in a concise manner, but would be easily accessible to people of varying technical understanding. One of the main requested features was a design and implementation which allows a user to view the overall system status at a glance, and diagnose an issue using helpful tiles. A technical challenge which we had to overcome was the ability to deploy the software on legacy hardware, as well as on modern systems.
THE SOLUTION
Utilizing the ExtJS framework to its’ full extent, SwarmOnline has crafted a unique solution going over and beyond the original requirements. Our team worked closely with various Veripos personnel to interpret their exact needs, and deliver a comprehensive application, with an eye on detail and quality assurance.
Due to the nature of the solution, and the accuracy required, our team developed an additional piece of software which acts as an emulator to the data being sent and processed. This enabled all technical personnel involved on the project to visualize the raw data and be assured that the solution is displaying it effectively. Quantum is integrated in perfect synchronization with Veripos proprietary software and hardware.
Following agile methodologies, we followed a Kanban approach to development, which allowed us to maintain a high standard of quality throughout each iteration of the project.
Our team spent a major part of the project optimizing the application for smooth performance on legacy systems, all while keeping the design intuitive.
